Project Moses - Part 1
22nd March
Project Moses is approved and we are implementing a project to make the ground floor of the yacht club water tight from high tides. The project can be split into 3 parts.
Phase 1
- The first work party in planned for 10am on Saturday 22nd March - We need many volunteers with small trowels and wire brushes to attend the club so we can rake out and point the eroded brickwork around the base of the club house prior to applying the tanking slurry and final coat of paint, which will follow with other work parties soon after.
- Part of this work will be to install the flood defences over the boiler door entrance and to evaluate the work to the locker room window which is lower than the high tide mark.
Phase 2
- The change to the balcony by moving the stairs is being debated as its approval may require local authority planning consent (we need the check this ) at a sensitive time on the lease negotiations. I'm mindful that at the AGM members did vote and agreed to move forward with Moses now rather than wait for the lease to be resolved, however, we hope that we are only a few weeks away from making a decision on this approach.
Phase 3
- Building the flood defences will follow once a committee consensus on part 2 has been made.
