Our stretch of the river Thames has traditionally been a layover point for sailing ships and barges as they waited for the flood tide to carry them up to their destination. Even today, visiting yachts find our moorings to be a convenient place to stop over on their way up to central London.
Heading up stream, you will spot our club house and moorings to starboard soon after passing Tilbury docks.
Boats of up to 38 feet are welcome to moor up on a spare mooring on our outer trot , which is the row of buoys closest to the centre of the channel. The western most mooring is designated for visitors, but if occupied you can pick up any other spare mooring (i.e. without strops) on this row.
DO NOT PICK UP ANY MOORINGS OTHER THAN ON THE OUTER TROT.
There is no charge for using the mooring, however a donation of at least £10 would always be welcome. If the club house is open please feel free to come ashore and introduce yourself to members. We don't bite! You can contact the club house on Channel M / 37.
Please note that if the clubhouse is closed, the gates are also likely to be closed meaning that you cannot exit the club premises to go into Grays town centre.
